Hello, and welcome back!

ASAP's blog is back from hiatus! With all of the things we have going on, it's great to be able to share them with you. This year, ASAP's blog will be brought to you by me, Reni (questions? comments? drop me a line at  rellis at phillyasap.org). I'll be updating as much as I can so you can hear all about what ASAP has going on!

Our Scrabble, chess, drama and debate clubs are off to a great start. We've got stacks of boards, tiles, notation pads, and chess pieces in the supply closet and have been holding volunteer trainings left and right. ASAP welcomes many new club leaders and is psyched to have many of our old club leaders back for the new school year. Other exciting updates: ASAP released its annual Directory of After School Programs, and teamed up with the Philadelphia Phillies for an exciting video about the benefits of chess

Last Wednesday marked the first round of debates for the Philadelphia Scholastic Debate league. High school students faced off with the following: Resolved - Developed countries have a moral obligation to mitigate the effects of climate change. Competition was fierce, and we were excited to have such a great turnout of both experienced and novice debaters. Remember, you can always check out the results and standings on our website.
